Wireless M.A.C. Protocol Engineer

Duties:
  • Design and optimization of QoS algorithms for IEEE 802.11/15 family systems to support A/V streaming. 
  • Design, analysis and simulation of new MAC protocol for IEEE 802.11/15 families
  • Contribute to the MAC standardization activities within IEEE 802.11/15.
  • Prototyping
Requirements:
  • MSEE (or equivalent), preferably a PhD, in wireless networking
  • 3+yrs experience in IEEE 802.11/15 standards
  • Solid understanding of wireless communications systems and protocols such as 802/11/802.15/Bluetooth.
  • Good understanding of QoS issues and their applicability to wireless home networks.
  • Experience with analysis and simulation of protocols and algorithms using simulation tools such as OPNET
  • Experience contributing to standards bodies is expected
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
  • Experience with video transport technologies, TCP/IP protocols, IEEE 1394 and/or USB 1.1/2.0 bus interface
  • Experience with QoS implementation and prototyping
